Therapy is the art of coming home to yourself

Beginning a psychotherapeutic journey is an initiation—a bold act of self-love that has the power to impact not only you internally, but also your relationships, community, and world.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in the scientific research of attachment theory and the ancient wisdom of community: we do not heal alone by ourselves—healing occurs relationally.

Hi, I'm Shannon Algeo

I am a therapist who works with my clients as a motivational interviewer, collaborator, empathic connector, and deep listener. You are in the driver's seat of your therapeutic journey, and I am an engaged co-pilot who is down and ready for the ride.

Please note: I am not afraid to be direct (when appropriate), and have fun (when needed). I am curious to explore how our relationship and work can be a facilitator and catalyst for your growth, goals, and healing.

Trust Your Truth

Do you ever struggle to trust yourself and listen to the voice of your inner wisdom? Self-doubt intensifies whenever we give our power away to people and things outside of us. But your self-worth is always sourced from within you.

Organized by the seven chakras—the energetic centers of the body—Trust Your Truth invites you to discover your truth on every level of your being:

  • to awaken to your true calling,
  • accept yourself wholeheartedly,
  • honor your emotions, trust your intuition, and
  • measure success based on how true you can be to yourself—rather than the expectations of others.

Each chapter contains raw stories of transformation from my life, journaling questions, and meditation practices that invite you to become the most present and empowered version of you.
